I ended up buying a 2010 G37x with 21,000 miles. Premier and Nav packages. Car is in essentially showroom condition. Price I paid was $26,500 before TTL. From what I had seen the past six months I did very well.

Hoping to contribute as I learn the vehicle more.
That's a really good price....the lease buyout on my 2010 G37X is $23,500.......in August 2013. Makes me glad that I leased. Is resale on the G's dropping?

They aren't going for that price here in the DFW area in Texas.

To me, that is definitely one of the reasons why I would be looking to buy used. My salary will be around $47,000 which is quite generous to me considering I will be a recent grad with zero experience other than an internship.

Like I mentioned, I will probably have to finance some part of the vehicle. Unfortunately that will bring into mind higher IRs as a few people mentioned. I would have to do some more calculations late next year when I'm closing to making the decision.

We pay cash for our vehicles, so we don't need to consider financing costs beyond opportunity cost. I'm not a fan of financing depreciating assets - or "renting" vehicles by leasing.

Certainly if the OP needs to finance the purchase (or lease), the interest rate difference between new and used should be considered. Khaoticdemize brought up a good point.

No hating, just saying a 2010 G37X with premium and nav in "showroom condition" is not going for $26,500 in this area...just stating what it isn't here.

100% real. I agree...it was a VERY good price. Like I said, I have been shopping for a while and I had not seen another vehicle even close to this price. I will tell you this. I think the dealer did not know what they had. It was a Jeep/Chrysler dealer. They did not market it very well and did not even mention the Premium or Nav packages. They KBB price they had listed on the sticker is quite a bit less than what I find it worth on KBB.

My patience paid off...I think there was some luck in there also.

Sounds like they weren't informed about what they had...worked out for you...one of those deals that isn't easy to find.
