Hey guys so my battery is going bad and I wanted to know which ones are people replacing the factory one with? if it a yellow or red top can you let me know if I need anything extra for install??

Optima quality has gone down hill since Johnson Controls purchased the company and moved production out of the USA. Just get a Diehard Platinum...it's more expensive but it was the top rated battery in Consumers Reports test for the last 2-3 years....it is an AGM battery, and actually a identical rebadged Odyssey made in the USA by Enersys corporation for Sears- quite a bargain considering the identical Odyssey pc 1500 retails for 300-350$$ 4 year full exchange warranty and 100 month prorate

 

How old is your original battery (what year is your G)?
You may have warranty coverage as well. Check the Warranty Information Booklet. It starts at 48months/60,000miles and is prorated from that point.
I've always heard great things about the redtop but never saw the info posted above, by novaleadfoot.

 

Unless you have a need for it, the Optima's can be skipped. This is what i replaced the OEM's with on the G (sedan).
