That's how Nissan promotes it in their advertising. It's very far from it in handling/performance.

handling and performance is better in the maxima than a lot of sedans in the class. like the TL. bleh.

 

The newer model Maximas are pretty decent for a front wheel drive car, especially when considering the weight and size of the vehicle. They don't hold a candle to a modern RWD car, that's not even in question.

 

They should call the Maxima the 4-door sports car for people who have never driven a sports car.
Still a nice car...just that it's FWD and not a sports car.

It's funny there's mention of maxima's. Before signing the deal for my purchase recently, I test drove a 2011 maxima, fully loaded (18 or 19" wheels I think). Two things that really annoyed me about it.

1) Torque steer
2) Higher steering ratio

Better tires would of probably take care of #1, but #2 is fixed.

I honestly didn't think I'd miss rwd, but after being in a fwd car for over 2 months, I couldn't stand it. It's such a different driving dynamic.

 

don't forget about them cvt transmissions. i had an enterprise maxima rental. it was actually a fairly nice pick, but as you mentioned, the torque steer (which wasn't too bad) + the bulky size of it all...turn off

lets not turn this into a coupe v sedan thread. those aren't any fun.

 

Don't get me started on the transmission!@# Actually I didn't have much issue with the CVT, mainly the lack of clutch and the slopping shifting and FWD.

Duh g35 coupe is a sports car.
Why because it has a back lol, its one of the most heavily modded cars on the import scene.
Only 350z is more of track car, & is the only other nissan maybe a gtr.

lets see I have pba / detectove shield / & a hwy patrol sticker.
No ebay here, fake pba cards & shields that dont belong to you dont do a thing.
