expensive mistake -- looking for the electricians (basic)

nothing actually (even the time i correctly baked them shortly afterwards). the ballast is in tact. that line just fell off the pan i had placed under the unit. it caught fire and caused some disfiguration in the plastic...everything else seems to be in tact

You'll have to cut the original connector off and use the Radio Shack ones. Or you can get it from riskyguy or someone else, which is probably better.

dam, if you're going to do this again. Use cardboard. The heat from the metal pan will melt any kind of plastic. I'm very sorry to say this, but I hope your ballast will still work. I have no proof that the oven will or destroy a electronics ballast, I can only tell you this: when I started baking lights years ago, I left all the bulbs intact when baking it and those bulbs ends up shorting a fuse. Idk why, but that's what I learned over the years. Hopefully your ballast will still work.
