You are often better off to pay cash, borrow it if you have to, than to claim this small amount.

Since this is a comprehensive claim the insurance does not go up. So I think and been told but not 100% sure.

I had a $8000 claim in addition to $1000 in rental (maxed it out) and a $275 tow bill on my G35 coupe this Memorial Day weekend. The car was destroyed by baseball size hail including punching out the rear window, sunroof and front windshield. State Farm said no worries, its a comprehensive claim. I had a $200 ded and the shop just laughed and said don't worry about.
