2011 G37xS Aerodynamic Kit

Hi guys,

I am new to the forum and I am in the process of getting a 2011 G37xS Sedan....I was thinking of getting the Aerodynamic Kit put on ......I was at the dealership last night and I was told by the general sales manager that it was not a good idea because people have been having problems with the front end of the Aerodynamic Kit.....Seems to lower the front end of the car so I guess people have been complaining that the bumper is pretty low to the ground when you add the kit....I actually saw a car they had on the lot that had the kit on it and it looked pretty good...but now I am concerned that if I get the kit put on it will give me problems like if I was to bang the front bumber on the pavement it will get scratched up and I will have to get it replaced...

Can anyone provide any feedback on their experiences with the Aerodynamic Kit on the 2011 G37xS Sedan ?....Do you think it is worth getting? How much does it add to the look of the car if I already have the sport package?....Will it give me any problems?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,

GP

I think the front lip on the "S" looks great but I'm not sure how much lower it actually sits. I'm probably going to get one soon. I'm not sold on the rear spoiler but I did buy a painted rear trunk lip/spoiler.

if u like modifying cars, talking to salesmen at the dealership is a waste. the ppl who complain are the ones who 20 feet high driveways cause the cars sits high off the ground stock

To me one of the reasons I bought the car and definitely worth it. Changes the whole look. I had zero problems with the front lip at all before I added the springs and even now its only steep decline driveways that I has to think about still nothing worth not getting it. There are some guys on here that are slammed on coilovers and have a lip and they still survive but at that point it takes a little more attention when driving.

I like the look...what I am concerned about is I live in an apt building and I park in a garage and I have to go up and around a small hill to get to the second floor of the garage .....and I don't want to deal with banging the front end of the car on the driveway of the garage as I am going up the hill....plus I live in New York and the roads are a mess here with lots of bumps/potholes....etc......Do you guys think I will have any problems?....What would u guys suggest?....Is it still worth it?

Are you planning on lowering? You definitely will not bottom out on a pot hole and the problem is not when you are going up hill it is when the downhill slope flattens out to a street but at the very very most you either have to slow down or turn a little so you aren't going at it straight on.

the aero kit only sits about 1/2" lower if that.

i don't plan on lowering the car....currently I am driving a 2008 G35xS sedan and have 2 lease payments left and I am going to get out of lease early and get into a brand new 2011 G37xS sedan and was looking for ways to change the look of the car a little compared to my current 2008 model....and I thought the aerodynamic kit along with the spolier and a midnight black grill would be a good way to go

it sticks out maybe another inch father but you'll be fine w/ the clearance if you 're not lowering the car.

I wouldnt worry about it, even if you do lower it. I have the aero kit and have no issues at all. I even clear those annoying parking concrete stops. The X sits horribly as it is.

The front lip isn't as low as we think by looking. It'll clear most parking block but the thick blocks i wouldn't try. If you even have to question whether your car will clear a parking block, just reverse that pretty azz. Since we are equip with rear camera, reverse parking is a breeze. But ya don't let the saleman fool you, the front lip will clear most parking blocks just not those extra thick ones.
