Not trying to hijack this thread, but since the Mustang topic came up...how about that 2012 Shelby Mustang GT500 Super Snake with 800 HP!! Can't be compared to the G at $83,000, but plastic or not, what a monster!

They are building some serious machines right now. Don't really understand all the Ford bashing around here, I know we're driving Japanese vehicles and I respect everyones right to their own opinion. I just apreciate good vehicles and Ford is building some very legit rides. Sure they have their share of loss-leaders that are padded for profit, but the new Mustangs are about the best bang for your performance buck right now. I would just say keep an open mind and on an off day from work go take a 5.0 for a test. I was very sceptical when a co-worker said "lets go test a couple Mustangs today", boy was I impressed. I would have never considered a Mustang as my next car but I definately am now. They handle very well and the 6spd and 6at are very good. Just a tight ride and don't bash the car until you take it for a run, I doubt you'll be bashing it after some time behind the wheel.

The stereotypes about American cars were true 10 years ago. Now, they're just plainly untrue. Ford, Chrysler, and even GM are putting together solid cars with good materials. I have a G37, and the rattles and quality of interior materials is laughable. I think Japanese cars are running on momentum from the past 20 years at this point, and they're about to be schooled by the American and even Korean brands. If you still turn your nose up at Hyundai, realize that everyone did the same thing in the early 80s with Nissan.
Go drive one of those of those American cars that you think is crap and pretend it has a Nissan logo on it. Lose the bias and you'll really be surprised.

^^ agreed. You guys bashing american cars do not know what you are talking about. Go and drive a 5.0 Mustang, or a Boss, or a 2011 R/T Max with the super track pack or any number of other vehicles and see what we are talking about.
And It wasn't the GD aftermarket place that screwed up my rotors - my rotors were warped form the beginning of my ownership until now, with periodic warranty-covered re-surfacing because of the acknowledged manufacturer defect. The minute somebody else touches my wheels, infiniti suddenly says - oh no, now it's your fault even though my rotors were warped prior to the new wheels. So that has nothing to do with it, buddy. Infiniti weaseled out of a warranty item issue that had been ongoing since the car had 4k miles and OG rims.
And besides that my car has had multiple issues - the whiny ECU had to be replaced, I have my ongoing brake issues, a number of squeaks and rattles and loose/ill-fitting items items (glovebox) have had to be dealt with through dealership visits, etc. Including the latest, the power lumbar support on the driver's seat died. So lets not talk quality.
So I am more than willing to give an american manufacturer a chance to sell me a car. They are becoming innovative and high quality again, and are competing well with, and even surpassing many cars in their various segments. I am quite happy for them.

I HATE my G. It's underpowered, the leather is horrible, I can't stand the windshield wipers, it won't come out of park, the paint sucks, it's always in the wrong gear, the back seats are too small, it lags, it overpowers me, it goes too fast, it's slow, the brakes slow the car too quickly, it's ugly, and it smells bad. I AM NEVER paying 40 grand for a car like this again. AND, I'm never buying another Nissan ever again forever. My next car will be a 45 grand Caddylack with a bunch of chrome and a 3-year warranty because it only has 20 fewer horsepower. Or, I might just buy a Camry.

Haha I agree with those who think American cars have been improved so much over the years. If you have not test driven the new Mustang 5.0, go do it. Or even the V6. The interior may not be for everyone but our G's interior is not that spectacular either.

Yes, I don't understand the people talking trash about the new Charger's interior. If you drive a NON-base rental fleet version, an R/T with premium interior and 5.7 liter 37o hp/398 tq V8 with sports suspension and 3.06 rear axle, then you can talk trash. I've driven loaner Gs that suck the big one too. But I will argue with anybody about the interior quality of the new Charger/Durango, the Fords, the new Chrysler 300, and many of the new GMC/Chevys aout there. They are just downright nice. My GD G37's interior looks crap compared to many of these cars. Sorry, but it is not the world's best interior. I sat in a Charger R/T Max with all the bells and whistles the other day, and drove it around and many interior amenities were downright nicer-feeling, better looking and overall had a higher-quality feel than my G's interior. So I call BS on these people who have 'driven' the new Fords and Dodges and say they are crap.
I feel like I'm back on the stupid MB AMG forums where those people act like Jebus hisself handed them the key to their car and said 'go be holier than thou with thy German steed of greatness.' The G's have their share of problems, and interior quality is a weakness for sure. Not to mention the brakes.

My Infiniti is still a nice car and am looking forward to purchasing the next generation G when it's available and I have the finances. Sounds like you got off on the wrong foot with the folks at Infiniti. Hopefully next time you'll have a better experience.
