Happened more than once...

..start car, but steering wheel doesn't move to pre-set position? Today, when it happened, I stopped, turned car off, opened door, shut door and restarted. Still didn't move. So I used the controller and repositioned wheel where I wanted it and hit reset buttons. Works again. Anyone else have this happen? What was causing it? 2010 G37 sedan.

I think it is also tied to the remote. Are you swapping between the 2 remotes you got with the car? Are both setup to your settings? Only thing I can think is that 1 is and 1 has not been done yet. I remember reading about that somewhere. This was done so that it automatically sets to the driver if you have more than 1 person driving the car.

I've had my 2010 sedan since March and have not had that problem.

Did you check your settings? There's an option there to lower/raise your steering wheel upon entrance/exit.

Through your nav screen under settings is the personal option to control items at entry (lights, locks, steering, seats, etc.).

Thanks but...hey I've mastered the system. I don't have nav, I have all the parameters set for steering wheel and such to go where it should go when ignition is made. It just happens from time to time when the ignition is activated, the steering wheel just sits there, doesn't move at all. And yes I use the same remote all the time...I'm the only one driving the car. I just wonder if this has ever happened to someone else?

Another factor to consider is falling voltage. If your battery is not holding full charge in cold weather, it may shunt the entire system into fail safe mode and erase your settings. This is certainly speculation and would have to be checked out.
