2011 G37 Sedan + 6MT = large grin on face while driving

First post here - new owner of a 2011 G37 Sedan with 6MT. Black on black. Wow, what a total rush to drive! Just picked up the car today and am loving it. For now, just need to get the windows tinted and then add on the trunk spoiler (lip, not the wing). In terms of the trunk aero lip spoiler, anyone have some options on where the best place to get OEM version (pre painted) at a decent price? I'm sure a local dealer can order it, but would like to check alternatives as well.

Thanks guys for the welcome. I'll post some pix this week after I get a few decent shots.

From a break in perspective, it's not real clear to me on what you should or should not do based on time or mileage. If anyone had some feedback I'd appreciate it. It is definitely hard to keep my foot out of the gas pedal in this car.

EDIT: Never mind - my search found numerous threads on break in debates

congrats...you'll catch yourself looking back and staring as you walk away from your car to your front door everytime you get home.

as for the lip, i got mine through Riverside Infiniti. They were able to get me the best price at the time and they gave me a discount for buying it along with the splash guards and front lip.

Congrats and welcome to forum. I've had four different 6MT G cars, and now that I got my first automatic in almost 10 years, I miss the manual everyday. Enjoy it! I'm definitely jealous.

Same here, I wanted coupe 6MT but went with the sedan so my kids could get in and out with ease and have rear AC.

Enjoy!

A few pix - not unlike the other black on black G37's. Midnight black front grill. Going to have tint done this week have rear trunk lip on order.

LOL - I've driven manual transmissions for most of my life and I notice that shifting from 1st to 2nd is a bit tricky. I have no problem getting going in first from a stop - just a little rough on the timing between 1st and 2nd. Go figure.

jg10G37-S - you mention that your sedan had A/C vents in the back seat? I don't have that in my G.

I just picked up an 09S Sedan last week and noticed the same thing. It appears that the revs do not drop immediately when you lift off the throttle -- they lag just a bit, so you have to adjust your timing to compensate for that to be able to shift smoothly. My 04 Maxima 6MT did the same thing, but my 05 G35 6MT did not. Just takes a little getting used to.

one thing's for sure: my 09S sedan shifts a LOT smoother than my 04 6MT sedan, even on its 2nd tranny. my 09 is light-years ahead in terms of shift effort required, and overall smoothness. the clutch is much lighter and the throws are shorter.

while not as effort-free as my wifes Honda CRV, it is a great tranny!
