I would complain, but it's a small cut and they went through a lot of effort to resolve the squeak. I'm not happy about the cut. I just figure I should pick my battles. I do plan on having it fixed.

Awesome! Good post OP and thank you. I have this exact same problem, and for those that can't understand why all this effort for a squeak. Trust me, this squeak will drive you insane!!!

I have felt like selling this car just because of the squeak. Often i rather drive my old beater sentra than this because of the squeak.

I'm in the same boat where dealer wants to remove dash to investigate. I'm holding off for now cuz i wanna try my own fixes first, but thanks for posting the notes from your dealer about how they fixed it.

I am going to try that windshield cowl thing first on my own. I can't duplicate the sound when i push down but worth a shot before dash removal.

It seems there IS hope though

Hey AKg37... thanks for posting the pic of the windshield cowl. I've heard that fixes it for many people and that they spray silicone down there. I like the filt tape idea better!

Now to find some felt tape and figure out how to remove the cowl....

It's your car, but the dealership is a business, and if they damage your car they should be taken to task to repair it. Letting it go just gives them permission to do the same to the next guy's car.
