On the next service...Trans Reflash! 7aT
Recently had service done for my 2010 G37x. Told service writer that 7AT trans is a joke! Hard shifts, bangs, lags and herky jerkiness....WELL..... people you need to get the ECU reflash done....I had program 'A' which has been updated to program "B" and what a world of difference. It even hunts less then before.
Covered under warrantee = freebie... trust me GET IT DONE. Still rubberbandish in normal drive mode, but the hard gear slams that would occur during stop and go of city driven is MUCH LESS>.. anyone with same experiences?

Yes, more info on your car please! I don't know if I have A or B. I think my trany could use some improvements, I don't think it's "garbage" but defiantly could use some work.... So that being said I don't know if I have A or B lol

my trans has been shifting smooth while accelerating and decelerating under most circomstances. However i did notice the jerky shifts while i was in a highway traffic jam up yesturday. i have not had the car in stop in go on the highway in awhile and i can tell my G hates traffic jams! i will look into this reflash if it fixes that but i think the car just wants to go!

I agree that the shift into fourth under light acceleration can be harsh, at least when she's cold. I only have 2k on the car, so I'm guessing it'll smooth out.
Also, at least in D, it seems to go into too high a gear, almost, dare I say, lugging, at about 25 mph. And when I'm doing, say, 30, and depress the accelerator without aggression, she doesn't downshift as I'd like, and if I push harder, she seems to downshift one too many. As if there's no middle ground. Unlike in the 5 speed. So I tend to use DS, but I'm not convinced that's a lot better. (These last few complaints aren't about the tranny, per se, but I think more about the computer / accelerator.)
Glad to hear there's a reflash! Next time I get to the dealer, they'll be dealing!

i notice the same thing in D but in mine DS works alot better. while in DS i will hit the gas light or hard and it shifts as predicted. however, if i just suddenly floor it all out, the trans doesnt seem to know what to do. i have learned to stab the gas half way then full throttle and things work great in ds.

It's really a night and day difference! My G37x is production date 03/10...the service writer showed me some sort of trans program code 5-6 digits and it was like "62718 _A" which was what it had previously and now I have the "62718_B"...I'm tellin ya - the jerkiness is way gone whether in D or DS~ drives 100x's better.

I emailed the service manager at Tysons Infiniti. This was his response:
"There is no release available to the dealers at this time; it is still in beta testing. We have had 2 vehicles with shifting issues coming into the shop and Infiniti reflashed these cars remotely. That being said, as in the case with any Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) which we expect to be forthcoming, you do not perform these unless the vehicle is exhibiting the issue as laid out in the TSB. This is a diagnostic repair procedure, not a recall campaign. If your car does not exhibit the issue as outlined, we would not update your software. It addresses a particular problem for an isolated set of vehicles, if your car does not malfunction, DO NOT UPDATE THE SOFTWARE.
As to which version your car currently has, we could not know until we hooked up the laptop. But again, we would not even go into this unless you’re experiencing a problem, you could create one that is not currently there."
