I think what he's saying is the X is just cosmetic differences for the sport package.

In the "non-x" RWD sedan the sport also has many functional differences. The front brakes are 4-piston, rears are 2-piston, vs 2-front 1-rear for the base Well that's for my 2009 at least. Not sure what the specifics are for the 2010 brakes but they still are different sport brakes for the RWD sport package vs non-sport. And yes, there is a quicker steering ratio. And tighter suspension.

There is no difference in the steering, suspension, or brakes between the X and XS. The only differences are the sports seats, stitching (steering wheel and seats), and larger wheels (18").

Go buy yourself a cool red S and some fancy wheels...and call it done. And you can do that for less than you'd lose if you trade it in now!

OK, but the OP said he bought the Journey, not the X. And the guy you responded to traded in an XS to the RWD S. So in both cases there would be a difference in steering and brakes.

Correct, I traded in my 08 G35xS for an 09 G37S. I never had any issues with the steering on the 08xS. The first time I drove my 09 off the lot and made my first turn on a street I immediately felt the differences in the steering. The sport steering requires less less turning and is more responsive. I'll say this again, there was nothing wrong with the non-sport steering on my 08xS.

Here's the link from the Infiniti site that list the packages. The RWD Sport package no longer list the quicker ratio sport steering like it did for the 09's. Maybe they all have the quicker ratio steering now.

If the specs provided by this site are accurate it's still different:
Infiniti G37 Sedan Specs: 2010 Infiniti G37 Sedan Specifications and Options
Infiniti G37 Sedan Specs: 2010 Infiniti G37 Sedan Specifications and Options

16.4:1 for the base or X

14.7:1 for the 6MT (or Journey with sport package)

From what I recall reading, I think that's been the same numbers they've been using for the last few years.

But then there's the 4-way Active Steering option, which is supposed to adjust the steering ratio as you drive.

yup sorry my mistake...you are all correct.

On the X few differences...

on the NON-X more differences between Sport and non-Sport. Sorry for the confusion.

Then It was probably omitted in error.

The few reasons I did not go with the Sport pkg on my '09 Journey include the fact that the suspension on the non-sport was firm enough for me-the Sport would probably have been a little too firm (even though I did not test drive one), and the fact that the tires are not staggered and can be rotated front to rear. I also got the performance tire and wheel pkg (not available with the sport), which has the best looking wheels that Infiniti has to offer, in my opinion. Added the optional front chin spoiler and I am very happy with the overall look of the car.
