Did I made a mistake?

New user here, I just bought a 2010 Journey with nav, and after driving it home I realize I should've bought Sport instead. The dealer only had 2009 sport, 2010 nav, 2010 nav+sport, and I chose the 2010 model. I was using vpp so I had to make a decision today.

Do you think its possible to go back tomorrow and switch the car (is the dealer allowed to do that) and more importantly should I?

i am 99% sure the dealer will not switch the car for you, as when you drove it off the lot it became used; there would also need to be refinancing and everything done as the sport package would cost more

While the sport package is nice to have, its nothing I would loose sleep over. you got the package worth having which is navi since that is not something you can add after buying the car. What features were you looking for in the sport package? almost everything it in can be added anyway if you really wanted.

I had test driven the sport before, and the one I have feels vague. I'm coming from an S4 so I'm comparing to that. The steering is not so tight. I don't care about paddle shifters, the aluminum pedals or wheels, just the drive (tighter suspension and LSD is what matters I guess). Can these be added without affecting warranty?

The steering is better on the sport, that was the first thing I noticed when I traded in my 08xS for my 09S. It's quicker and requires less turning.

But the suspension and brakes can all be upgraded. If you have an auto you can even add the paddle-shifter if you want. While the the steering is better on the sport unless you drive both cars back to back you will not noticed it. And to be honest I drove xS for close to a year and never had an issue with the steering.

So I would say relax, and if you wish mod it. I'm older so I don't really mod any more so I went straight to an S. And getting a RWD Sedan in the Northeast is not easy. One dealer actually told me initially that the RWD Sedan did not exist.

the ONLY time I've ever seen a dealer take a car back was with Ford (I think) where they did the 60 days return it if you don't like it promotion thing. The dealer won't take it back.

Now, you COULD pretty much go back and buy the S, use the current one as a trade in and do it that way, but you'll lose a good chunk of change.

No matter what way you go, any G is a great car, and you'll learn to love it. So don't get discouraged, just go out and enjoy the great car you've got

Keep the non-sport! You can always upgrade the suspension components and you'll basically have a sport minus of few other things like sport seats, wheels, etc.

I got the Journey and love it. Yeah its nice to have the sport for LSD, Seats, Brakes, and other little stuff but that can all be upgraded.

I added Hotchkis sways and thats the best mod any journey model can do. Just by adding sways I already have larger sways than sport and handle better.

supsension.. no big deal, everyone always swaps out suspension anyways. I plan on getting coils; there goes the sport struts and springs.

Brakes... Journey model already has 07-08 sport brakes, which are good enough.
BRakes... pick them up used or g35parts.com has them for 1000 shipped.

Exterior parts... I think the journey bumper looks way better than the sport. Add the lip like I did. ( I posted pics of my car with the oem journey lip) will enhance the look big time.

LSD... give or take on this one. Do you track? if not then there really no need. VDC is good enough for the streets and nature. plus oem lsd isn't that good anyways.

Seats... well its sucks not having the seat, but oh well. I plan later taking my seats to a place and getting them stuffed with better foam.

Overall Journey model is all you need, sport is for the title and stock form. Everyone on this forum who gets SPort end up swapping everything out anyways.

Sport is nice and all but Journey is all you really need if you plan on modding it.

my two cents....Journey FTW.. lower insurance rates!

this is my opinion and based off the 2010 model

If sport was rated at 250 rather than 228.. then I would of jumped on the sport without a doubt.

Not true I'm own a sport and have no plans to swap out anything but the tires.
That's why I bought a sport from the beginning.

I also did note its for the title and stock form...

but overall having the sport is well worth the 2100 upgrade. Especially if you have no plans on modding it, like the other who posted.

My dealer had a 48 hour 200 miles return policy. If the sport is what you really want it cant hurt to ask! Either way you got a car you will love to drive.

As expected dealer refused. I'm still happy with the car, I just have this nagging regret, and no one to blame but myself I don't want to start thinking about mods or changing parts on a new car, guess I'll just have to get used to it.

I went from an M3 (6MT) to a G37xS 7MT in Dec of last year and started missing the MT about a month later (no regrets about the G though - amazing car)....so I wound up buying a second car just last week - a 2005 S2000. Rather than trade in your Journey for a Sport, take the $ you would lose in trade and pick up a "cheap," used sports car.

There is no difference in the steering from sport to non-sport 2010 vs 2010 Xsedan. There is no diff in brakes either. The primary diffs are the bumper, side sills, wheels and seats...and that red S on the back. Many don't like the sport seat...depending on body type and the wheels can be changed easily. Go buy yourself a cool red S and some fancy wheels...and call it done. And you can do that for less than you'd lose if you trade it in now!

Relax...enjoy your car...life's too short for regrets...

Is this only for the G37X? Or did you mean there's no diff in steering betweeen regular sedan and sport package?
