car jerking in rain

car jerking in rain

is that normal? it happened to me once when i hit the gas it kept jerking

ur slip light goes on and it locks down thats why...turn the traction off you can powerslide all day but i wouldnt recommend it especially on the streets or freeway

Could it be that you are hitting water puddles? that will pull the car one way or another, and may seem like a jerk depending on how fast you are going.

Either your hydroplaining, or your accelerating too hard and loosing traction causing the VDC to kick in which makes it feel like the car could be jerking.

At least in the DC area, the jerks ALL come out when it rains.

It does sound like slipping, unless it's more of an engine-hesitation issue. If that's the case, you're into fuelling/airflow/injection questions.

VDC will cut fuel or spark (I have forgotten which or both) once slip is sensed. Likely your cause. Turn off VDC as per posts above which will eliminate the issue. Keep in mind, though, no computer nanny to save you if you are too fast on a blind, decreasing radius turn ;-)

I've experienced the same on several makes/models of 4WD cars. Don't know if
your car is 4wd, but if it is get a 4-wheel allignment and make sure your tires
are properly inflated....These will help immensely.

mine is RWD and the tires r good it only happened once in the rain now its normal

i have the injen CAI went thru no contact car wash drove out hit the gas,,, the car
jerked CUT POWER .i pull over and the rpm are at 1100 in neutral no a/c or defrost on.so i shut her off wait 2 mins start her back up and the rpms are normal again so i decided to stay in neutral with engine running for 30 mins left and everything seems fine now ....one thing is i have holes in my faux vents ..

but still......... G37P818 do you have the injen intake???
