G37 Sedan Moonlight White key hole delete
G37 Sedan Moonlight White key hole delete
Ordered the part from Metro Infiniti on Wednesday and picked it up Friday morning. Took about 5 minutes to install.
After reading on this subject and looking at all the pics of different install methods, I installed it with ease. I think a lot of people are avoiding this install because of the fact that if something happens with the remote battery they think they will be stuck. Wrong! There is no need to take the whole lock or even open the door at all!
After taking the MW plastic cap off the dummy piece it came with I then proceeded to lock the car, pull the driver's side handle all the way out and insert a microfiber towel in place to keep it open while working. I then taped up the area I would be working around with blue painter's tape so I wouldn't scratch anything with the screwdriver needed to do the job. I found the best way to pry off the driver's side key hole cover is from underneath the handle. After messing with it very carefully for about 2 minutes I succeeded separating the part. Once you pop the cap you will have to wiggle the piece off with very little force. Take the new cover and pop in on the key hole area and you're done!
I did this all without opening any doors. Very straight forward removal and install. I feel the only very important thing to remember is to cover the door up with enough blue tape in case the screw driver slips.

It is actually the passenger's side door handle part, but works for the driver's side. Total cost was $31 with tax. Here is a pic of the part (MW). Ask for Osmundo in parts at Metro Infiniti in Monrovia.

I did the same thing to my black G37.......Unfortunetly I slightly scratched my car under the handle in the process. I put enough tape but I was just to forceful and the screwdriver went right through the tape. Its a tiny scratch but it bugs me.
