Blower motor question
Blower motor question
so my blower motor stopped working the other day while sitting at a light. My doors started locking and unlocking and my voltage went all crazy from 10.2 all the way up to 15.8. I have a external regulator so I bypassed the pcm regulator. Well anyway I pulled my blower motor to find this capacitor popped off... question is can I just replace the capacitor for 9.99 or do I need the $200 new blower motor?
Unless the capacitor tests bad, I would try re-soldering the leads and see if that solves the issue. If the capacitor tests bad and you can find a replacement with the same duty rating give it shot and see. What have you got to lose?
Worst case and you have to get a new blower motor, there are plenty on Amazon for well under $100.
