Is there anyway to determine that year of mfr of the engine in my car?
I bought it with 142k on it, car has 185k and still runs like a champ.... I want to see if its the original engine or not. My mechanic said its possible the engine has def been replaced...
Is there anyway to determine and if so where are the #s located? Thanks for any help.
Each engine has it's own serial number located on the rear of the engine block:
However, I do not think there is any way to verify if one particular engine serial number is tied to any specific VIN. I am sure that tucked away in some file cabinet at Nissan there may be a build sheet, but there is no public way to check that I know of...
