Talking Good Budget Exhaust Note

Hello! Recently I just bought a 2013 G37 Journey Coupe and I'm absolutely in love. It's a great daily driver and good on gas when I'm easy on the throttle. I'm looking to get a deeper and crisper tone out of my car but I don't want to clap it out like I've seen many do. I don't want something incredibly loud or obnoxious, just something that will sound nice. I'm thinking of an axle back since I can't really put a lot of money into my car as of right now. And any G owners with a muffler delete, would you honestly recommend I get one?

Thanks
Brody

The IPL exhaust sounds nice. Hard to find but the Nismo exhaust is the same thing and the guys in the Z forum sell those things like they going out of style. You need to buy some midpipe extenders but it all bolts up just the same. I actually have the Nismo exhaust on my IPL since mine broke and I liked the note so much I got another one. Can’t really tell the difference between the two.

I had the Manzos and they're basically a muffler delete. They are loud though. Might be quieter on your journey though. The ipl muffler is cool but doesn't have enough bass in it's voice for me.

You want cheap? Go this route. Go straight the stage 4 and you’ll be happy with the sound.

Find that reputable muffler shop and a young welder and he’d be happy doing stage 4 for you

Highly recommend a muffler delete! Got mine about a week ago and at first it was loud but now it got a slight Quieter! But it’s still loud!

Muffler delete sounds ok at lower RPM and terrible at WOT.

I think it sounds wonderfully menacing at idle, but as soon as you give it any throttle at all it's just noise.

Anybody can blow on a trumpet and make a racket, but it takes skills to make music.

The drone though...Sounds OK and satisfies for a minute but at any highway cruising it's not pleasant. When I initially did it, I was throwing the car around backroads and was feeling pretty good about it. Drove it to work for a week and the mufflers went back on that weekend.

Please check the for sale forums. If anyone has one for sale, it would be there. These threads are for discussion. Thanks.

A muffler delete should never be an option.

if you can't afford an exhaust save up until you can.
