Top Speed axle back

I have been looking for an exhaust mod that would give me a bit more aggressive sound. After some research I decided on the top speed axle back.
I installed it Friday - very easy install and fit perfect. It looks like a quality piece.

But man - is it loud and not really in a good way. I know exhaust sound opinions are very subjective. But startup - loud. Anything under 2200 rpm - drone and loud. It does sound good above 3500rpm. I guess this is basically a muffler delete.

Anyway I took it off on Saturday as the wife and kids refused to ride in the car.
I am thinking about welding in some magaflow race mufflers and see if that helps. The only problem is there is not a lot of room - it would need to be a 10" long muffler max.

Why didnt you go with the cbe instead of just the axle back? I'm going to assume you bought what was listed in this thread?

If so, the difference between a muffler delete and a true cbe or abe is night and day. I'd see if you could return it and upgrade to the full 3 piece cat back. I have the Top Speed cbe on the wifes G and absolutely love it!

Yea it sounds like what you did was buy those muffler delete pipes. No wonder it's loud.

If you want something thats not too loud maybe just get the Tanabe mufflers.
