Chassis brace for our cars

Anybody here have a chassis brace on their car? I'm thinking of adding them to make the car feel more solid. I don't plan to track my car, I just want a solid feeling car on the road.

I have an "X" and was throwing around the idea of doing the braces for the rear. I daily drive my car so I also am not sure if these are worth it for me

Best suspension upgrade to do is sway bars. You likely won't feel much effect from these during normal daily driving. The car needs to be pushed hard to really do a comparison. I was thinking about adding some of the braces but held back because money could be spent on other mods that I would enjoy more.

^^^ This.

All those crazy frame braces are designed to reduce twist in the chassis, which I believe is only something you care about on the course track or auto-cross, and even then only if you're really, really into those events, with a dedicated track car, tires & brakes. The absolute best thing you can do to reduce lift and twist (so that your tires can do their thing) is to upgrade your swaybars. Similarly, you might notice subtle changes with a FSTB, but that would require really lowered expectations.

I understand the appeal, however, all this Soul Function teal powder coat notwithstanding. Chassis bracing is the ultimate bolt-on, because literally you are bolting it on. Pretty easy to wrap your head around a mod like that.

Well I'm glad I made this thread now, before I dropped another G into my car. The 4-point mid chassis brace interests me however since the middle of my car is roughly 8 inches longer than a G37 Coupe.

Thanks for the link! I skimmed most of it and saw a lot of interesting posts. Did you notice any differences after adding those braces to your car?

I currently have G37S Coupe sway bars which are pretty thick. Do you recommend any specific aftermarket brand that is particularly good?

Did you add anymore bracing to your car after adding the front pair?

I'm on the verge of ordering the Cusco front tower brace for my car first. I was going to add these braces since my car feels pretty soggy when I'm driving it around town

Any aftermarket brand will be a noticeable improvement over the OEM swaybars. Doesn't matter, IMO. Pick one... Hotchkis is good.

No, that was it. Kind of meh, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

All told, these are the mods I've done affecting how stiff the chassis and drivetrain feel:

Eibach Front and Rear Sway Bars
Z1 Motorsports Polyurethane Engine Mounts
Z1 Motorsports Polyurethane Transmission Mount
Whiteline Polyurethane Rear Differential Bushings
GT-Spec Front Shock Tower Brace
G37 Convertible 3-point Engine Cradle Braces
Bell Raceworks 4-point Differential Brace

Yes, but it may just be a placebo..... as the only way to know for sure is to have two identically equipped vehicles, add a mod to one, then compare. If the mod was an improvement, add it to the previously un-moded vehicle and then add another mod to one of them and compare again.

I have an S as well and it was still a big change, I've really enjoyed my Eibach sway bars. Hotchkis has zerk fittings for re-greasing the bushings which is pretty cool. Although, I haven't had much issue with noise out of my Eibachs though.

Review of soul function bracing

I have every soul function brace installed along with Cusco trunk power brace. The real question is how many turns are you doing? I mainly only drive canyon roads and I loooooove corners, so all the bracing made sense for me. If you’re only driving straight and not performance driving, it’s not worth it.

biggest return on soul function bracing to me was rear tie bar and the two little bars that go in front. Front Fender braces(pictured above) also had a big impact on turn in predictably

think of them as an addition to sway bar(do sway bar first)

just what I wanted to read! I will start with those. I ordered some hotchkis sway bars from jmauto and it looks like they’re back ordered. Why does every aftermarket parts vendor collect money first and then ship out the part few months later? Something about that model just leaves a lot hanging out.
