I have been doing tons of the research trying to find any aftermarket solution for upgrading my G37s coupe's instrument cluster to a digital one.
However, it seems to me that rarely can we find any useful info regarding those modding info.
Please ket me know if it is possible to swap QX50 or Q60's digital cluster to G37s 2012, if not, please guide me to find any recommended aftermarket product that I can swap on.
re: Q60 (CV37)/Q50 (V37) clusters, I played with the idea of doing a cluster swap having sourced a Q60 cluster from my local pick-a-part. (It was only $25/ a small gamble).
For one, they will not physically fit without some modification to the dash and/or cluster housing itself. That would be the "easy" part.
Second, the wiring is completely different. While many of the wires and signal values are the same, a whole new harness would have to be fabricated. Finding connectors and wiring components- that would be the "not so easy" part. Even then, not all of the "features" may work.
One of the biggest issues is the fuel gauge- the G37/some older Nissan/Infiniti's use the AC amplifier to manage fuel level whereas the newer cars have the cluster itself doing all of the work. Two entirely different systems which are not, technically, compatible. That would be the "next to impossible" part.
I have no idea whether the QX50, or other Infiniti clusters, would work. There are no aftermarket alternatives that I am aware of.

First off, unhelpfully, I am going offer my opinion on digital clusters: they are cheap and automakers use them exactly because it is cheaper to fit an LCD panel than to engineer and manufacture electro-mechanical gauges. Think about how technically complicated a gauge cluster is, all of these little servo motors and mico-processors, complicated colorful backlighting.
OK, now for the "helpful" part:
The Nissan Armada uses a variant of the corporate Infiniti gauge cluster that can be identified by the blue-grey vertical LCD between the 2 bigger gauges.
This will use the same data architecture as all Nissan/Infiniti fitted with this style of cluster.
Fortunately, in Australia and Canada it is becoming popular to swap out these old-style Infiniti-type clusters for a newly developed digital gauge cluster.
The Armada/Y62 Patrol uses the same gauge cluster connector as our G's. In my opinion, if you contact the gauge cluster manufacturer, it should be a very simple programming change to get the LCD to display G data correctly and delete the off-road modes and pictures of Y62 Armadas.
The gauge cluster from a Y62 is similar, but not exactly, the same shape. The front cluster window angles differently between the 2 vehicles. My guess would be some trick plastic work to stuff the LCD guts into the G cluster shell and you'd be good to go. As long as the LCD manufacturer is willing to help you code the gauge from Y62 to CV36. I don't see it being very difficult at all.
Just to clarify, all Nissan/Infiniti clusters use the mechanical gauges but have the digital "info" screen in the middle, no? There is no true, 100% digital cluster, that Nissan uses- unless I missed something...
Here's the 2018 Q60 cluster:

I agree about the $1200 part. But...did you see the YT video on setting it up? They have an app that reads the Nissan data transmitted to the cluster and reprograms it right on the spot to work correctly with that cluster.
That Nissan data will be standardized, especially since the Y62 and V36/CV36 use basically the same cluster architecture, and they have the code cracking and translation figured out already. In fact, I would bet that the Y62 coding supports EVERYTHING on the V36/CV36, since the Y62 has every display our cars have, including more that our cars don't utilize, such as off-road modes, etc. I have also seen these all-LCD clusters display the Nissan radar cruise info that I think some G's have. So, there is now options for those who want to pursue it.

Does it work or is there any other options? Are we stuck with OEM?

Wanna drop $1200. and be the guinea pig for us, LOL? Just joking.
Likely, it will not work. I tried contacting them a few times way back and they never replied. As member 'takemorepills' stated, it should be easily configurable to work on other models, but who really knows. I DO know that the newer OEM gauge clusters are not backwards compatible with the G37. Also, throughout all of the internet, I have not seen one G37 with a aftermarket/ custom cluster.
So, looks like we will be stuck with the OEM unit. For now at least.

Damn we are screwed lol okay so what's the best option for a replacement cluster? Should I buy from ebay, infiniti ($599), quality auto parts ($345) etc also will have to get it reprogrammed when put in my car. I see people saying yes and some saying no. The lady I spoke to from the aulity auto parts said no. Said that she will send one close to my mileage and then when I connect it to my car it should update on it's on. Infiniti said yes lol appreciate the help. I popped a code/check engine light.
Well. Good news and "okay" news. The good news is that I am 99% confident that you do not need a new cluster.
P0462 refers to a issue with the fuel level sensor:
I take it your fuel gauge was not reading correctly?
There are quite a few threads on this issue including this thread and also this one. The "okay" news is that more than likely you need to replace the unified meter & AC amp. This is the plastic white box mounted atop your radio headunit. There are usually tons on eBay and good deals can be had. The only requirement is that the replacement part must match your car (sedan for sedan, Coupe for Coupe, no mix-and-matching). Should be a easy fix.
And, to clarify for those reading in the future, when replacing the cluster, the mileage stays with the cluster, NOT the car.
Whilst I'm not one to habitually bump "old/ dead" threads, I came across this unit and thought I'd post it up.
While quasi looking at options to possibly updating the center display and adding CarPlay to the G, apparently "NiftyCity," has a offering for a digital gauge cluster for these cars. Niftycity Cluster
Only reason it caught my eye is because it seems CarPlay is incorporated directly into the cluster display- in other words, it does both. I guess with this there's no need for the separate module for the center stack/ display. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Seems OK albeit "gimmicky" for me. It would solve two (2) "issues" I have: lack of CarPlay and my cluster flickers more than the disco ball at 54. But, I'm old and biased. I prefer analog. And the $1300 price tag makes it a hard no go for me. Still, for those who like gimmicky gadgets and can afford it the option is there.
Ah well, the search continues

Does that have touch on the cluster itself? I've put my phone on the cluster a few times for nav before I got the Vline and it's not really suitable for reaching your hand into that area for anything.

I doubt their digital cluster has any touch capabilities though for $1300 it probably should. There would be no point in that ability for, as you pointed out, there is no room to really reach in there. With CarPlay (or Android Auto) being wireless everything would be controlled through your device (which is enough of a distraction as it is (IMO)).
I have to admit, gimmicky as it seems, to be able to turn off that go**amn TPMS light would almost be worth the $1300 price tag alone. (not)

There are a couple of users on the Reddit sub with this one.
The Carbomotor unit looks OEM+. I personally like the analog look of the OEM Speedometer, Tach and others, but the center digital display could use an aftermarket upgrade with a higher rez LCD/Controller and maybe some added OBD/CAN functionality added.

I wonder if they paid full price or if they received some type of "sponsored" discount. The profit margin on this must be astronomical. Hell, my new iPad Pro 13" didn't cost that much...

Ditto. That is the main reason I never "upgraded" to that Tesla-style thing. Call me nuts but I'm not getting rid of the clock. Never.
