Skyline V36 370GT Type SP speedometer swap

I have a 2007 Skyline V36 370GT Type SP ( Basically a G37s with 5 speed auto) and I'm looking to have the speedometer cluster swapped to the newer version found on 2010 Infiniti G37 and up as I hate the orange LCD and would like the white variant. Meter swaps in my country/ mileage is very lax so I don't even really care about mileage differences. What I would like to know is if an Infiniti speedo will be plug and play with the the difference being just the unit calculation (mph vs kmh) but basically function the same with no issues?

You can just swap over the display, that's what I did. Plug and play. Keep everything else the same. You can swap over the gauge covers if you like the MPH better and mix and match needles as well, all while keeping the base cluster so it still outputs in KMP and has your odometer reading.

That is basically what i would like to do but I'm not too savvy, do you know if I just connect the Infinti cluster will everything just function as it should? I'm thinking that would be the easier option. I'm guessing if that doesn't work out; do you have a DIY guide for your method.

If I recall the wiring was the same, but I should not be quoted on that. I was going to go look up the FSMs for you to compare diagrams but apparently the manuals are offline right now. If all else fails I guess I can do a DIY for the display swap. I still have the old cluster in storage so I can take pictures; I just suck at follow through on those types of things.

Hi all ,
  1. Yes, you can swap instrumental clusters out with others of different colour etc. They are all pretty much interchangeable.
  2. However, the mileage will stay as what it was from what vehicle it was taken from.
I am working on being able to change the mileage on these units (in spear time) may be a while.
I'm trying to design it so I don't have to split dashes anymore.
FYI the US clusters will work in Japanese vehicles too, Same unit different language programmed on the LCD EEROM.

any more questions please email me with the heading "Nissan V37 help".
