Y pipe damaged

My stock y pipe has the mesh area which is falling apart. Its making a rattling/metal noise when i increase throttle. The dealer said its corroded. Are there cats on the y pipe? I have an inspection coming up. Will I pass inspection? They do visual inspections with cameras under the car. Is the mesh on the Y pipe cats as well?

I am looking into aftermarket exhausts now. I am ready to purchase the fast intentions full exhaust as i already have their high flow cats. But they don't even have a y pipe, its just two straight resonated pipes. I live in New Jersey. Would getting this exhaust cause me to fail inspection? They don't smog test here but they do a visual inspection.

The Y Pipe bolts to the CATs, so "visually" it "should" pass inspection as far as the CATs are concerned.
If there are holes in the exhaust pipe, that "could" cause you to fail the inspection, but if there are no holes, you "should" be good.

As to the fast intentions full exhaust, well, it does state that it's a full exhaust, so it should pass inspection.
