After changing the serpentine belt that was a struggle to put on, I noticed that it wasn’t fast like last time, it took more time to get through the RPM range and this was also by removing 90 pounds of the car so I should’ve seen a good response, can it be the belt? and how long should I wait for the belt to loosen up as it will during time
1- are you sure you have the correct belt and is it installed correctly?
2- where are the indicator marks lining up on the belt tensioner? Is the notch (C) lining up between lines A & B?
The belt can only be as tight as the amount of tension the spring can apply. A tight belt should not cause the engine to bog down, or be "sluggish," however, it can place too much stress on the shafts and bearings of the accessories (alternator, P/S pump, AC compressor, etc.) and crankshaft which will, over time, create additional problems.
Double check everything. As long as the tensioner is in spec you should be fine. Any deviation to those marks and you'll have to dig deeper.
