New to G37
I'm really new to the driving experience of the G37. I traded in a C5 Corvette and Chevy Monte Carlo SS (to downsize to one car) for my '08 Coupe Sport. I live in the Pacific NW and the weather this time of year doesn't always cooperate to my liking for the simple selfish reason that I really love just driving a car. So to make a short response long, I'm very creative and can make up any excuse to go out and drive this car and I've even prepared a small list from actual reasons from the past month and a half.
1. Oh, Honey, you're out of wine I'll run to Safeway to get some so your glass doesn't go empty.
2. I'll be right back, I'm going to O'Reilly's because I need a plastic diaphragm cover for my differential.
3. Hey Honey, Joanns just sent me a coupon for 25% off on any regular priced item. Do you need anything?
4. Com'on Honey, It's Friday evening and you don't need to cook tonight. I'll make the sacrifice to venture out into the heavy Friday night traffic and run to the pizza place and pick up your favorite.
5. Hey, I'm taking off to Pick-A-Part. I need to find some fasteners off the Nissan's there because they don't have a single blipping Infiniti in there salvage yard.
I've got a feeling that I'm not alone here dreaming up whatever excuse it takes to get out and have fun driving my G.
What's yours?

My G has really become more of a hobby car than a daily driver. Sometimes driving it like a DD feels kind of exhausting, and I'd rather just drive the wife's crossover because it's comfortable and easy and I don't feel like I need to protect it from other cars in parking lots.
Also, it's still Winter. Road salt, potholes, snow & ice, snow ties... kind of takes the joy out of things.

I feel you on it being exhausting dd and that’s also because I’m lowered and such. I used to live in the midwest so yeah the winter was terrible but I’m in florida now so I’m glad I don’t have to deal with that anymore.
Normally on the weekends I just feel like taking her out for a ride it definitely brings me joy.

I agree on the exhausting part when daily driving, especially getting stuck in traffic. The G is my only means of transportation to my job. Driving it all year round winter and summer. But best believe it brings a smile every time I get in and start driving.

New excuse
Okay, I've been wondering when my Wife would catch me and point out that I came up with another clandestine reason to go out of my way to drive my G.
Me to Wife; "Oh, (my daughters name) is coming up Friday to stay this weekend so she can drive out to the coast on Saturday for a bridle shower? Don't worry honey, I can take her there so she can enjoy the festivities more and not be burdened with a 3-hour (157.2 miles) round trip through some long winding back roads and a Pacific coast highway drive.
What's your excuse going to be this weekend?
If you don't already have one, you better create one.

I bought my 6mt coupe specifically to DD and I love it. I have a 40 min, all highway, low traffic commute. I do live in the midwest and since my car is rust free I couldnt bring myself to drive it with salt on the roads. The other issue is pot holes so I'll never lower my car, at least not very much. The plan was to leave the car mostly stock and just drive it every day for 5 years but I caught the mod bug and want a cat back system.
If I had my wife's bumper to bumper traffic commute I'd probably want an ev or bicycle.

I drive my 13 sport coupe about 24k miles per year. I love driving it. It is the auto and not lowered or anything but this is such a nice car. Handles great, plenty of power, looks great...only thing missing is good gas mileage.
I bought it with 25k on it and it has 85 on it now. I'll probably drive it until 150k.
