Maxima shift **** upgrade

After searching the forums I just purchased a 2016 maxima shift **** for my g37s 5at. As has been mentioned before the **** doesn't quite fit the shift boot. However, mine seems not to fit at all. Has anyone had luck modifying the trim piece to fit the maxima ****?

Other then the trim not fitting I'm pleased. The **** is a big upgrade over the stock Infiniti ****.

I bought a Maxima shift **** myself and I have a easy solution to your problem. Just cut off the zip tie and remove the ring on the boot and using the bigger pin that came with the new ****, turn it around so the 2 pointy ends are facing you. And just slip the boot over those to give it support. If you have O.C.D it might bother you, otherwise it gets the job done.

Extra time and money. I only paid $55 for mine off ebay and I didn't even want to pay that. I really don't like it though. The leather is hard and it really doesn't feel as good in the hand as the G shift ****. My buddy said the same thing.

You can find aftermarket leather shifts boots on ebay for like 12 bucks. It'll fit better and not look off. But I have OCD issues. So it may not affect everyone. I would be bothered by it.

How would an after market boot look better that oem if you still don't have the trim ring? From reading the other thread they don't sell the trim ring by itself. They make you buy the whole boot for over $150. But thanks you taught me something. I didn't know it was that easy to take the boot out. I think I'll get one with red stitching to match my seats.

If you spin the **** around and it faces the opposite direction of the oem **** it fits the Maxima much better and will work for what you want I believe, I tried this when I had 16 Maxima **** before I sold it and the ring fits well when its on the opposite direction of oem and matches the curves in the ****, you will have to take it out of the boot, turn it around and then re-attach it and it will look normal, just spin the ring and boot before hand and try it out.

I tried that but it still didn't work. It actually looks good without the ring though. The black leather just flows with the black on the **** without being broken up by the chrome of the ring. I put some leather conditioner on the boot and **** and it looks way better in peron than in pictures.
