Did I not notice this before??

Hi all, I recently had a front end accident and my car has been fixed. However, I was curious about two things which may or may not be an issue, to put my mind at ease.

Number one is the cooling/radiator fans. Whenever you turn the air conditioner on, the fan(s) come on to keep the condenser and engine bay cool and there is a louder "drone" as either an additional fan comes on, or the fans spin faster. However, when I turn the a/c off the fan cycles on and off every 5 seconds. This only happens after a drive so maybe I'm paranoid and just didn't notice it sooner. Any ideas?

Number 2, one of my headlights was replaced and I noticed it gives off a blue tinge. The unreplaced headlight is bright white. Does the new HID bulb eventually lose color? It's slightly brighter so I'm wondering if the body shop put in a brighter bulb or if that's just because it's a newer headlight. The blue tinge is only noticeable on the back of cars I'm following, but barely if I look at the headlights from a far. Any ideas?

Not sure about the first question. As for the 2nd question HID bulbs do have a slight change in color after many many hours.

Idk if this relates much but after I dropped my Ducati Last year (low speed slide, only fairings replaced) I started to notice the belts more. I was paranoid but eventually came to accept that is the nature of the beast as all Ducatis have loud belts. I mark it down as a :im just looking for a reason to upgrade" thoughts.

Now for your bulb, it might be the difference of a new bulb vs old. Time to swap out for an upgrade.

Was it replaced with an OEM headlight? That blue cutoff looks like the projector lens was replaced with clear vs oem fresnel.

Seems like you have different temperature bulbs, resulting in the color difference... which means your previous ones were aftermarket?... Were your previous bulbs OEM?

The left side definitely looks like it has a clear lens swap, which sharpens the cut off...

The extra color could be from lense spacing.

I wasn't familiar with the "fresnel" lens and looking online that makes a lot of sense. But stock i remember the lens giving off a blueish hue, so maybe they replaced the headlight and put in a different bulb too?

seems to be so, do you guys know if the lens is swappable vs the whole headlight?? I'm going to cause a fuss with the repair shop so hopefully they'll take care of it

I think it might be a combination of what Abramite and G-thirty7x were saying about the lens and a different bulb as well, bc i noticed the actual projector housing was glowing a lot brighter on the left headlight (the one with the "clear" lens)

If you wanted to check, you could switch the bulbs from side to side and see if the brighter side changes. They likely put a new bulb in when replacing the headlight so depending how old your other bulb is that might be the culprit.

Hard to tell from the pictures ... Zoom in on the lenses with the lights off.

The lenses can be changed, but you have to remove and disassemble the headlight

resolved

Hi all!! I appreciate everyones contribution!

I took my car to infiniti for an oil change and the dealership took a look at both, determined there was an issue with the radiator fans, and the headlight was defective. The repair shop is going to take care of it all. Thanks for everyone's input!!!

That's nice... I wouldn't say the headlight is defective lol. One of the dealer mechanics will probably take it.
