Angry Panic Alarm Issue

This seems to be a recurring issue. The factory panic alarm goes off intermittently by itself. I've taken it to the dealer twice and everything checks out. The key is sitting on the counter untouched...the alarm goes off. The last time it happened the alarm went off 7 times during a 12 hour period.

The dealer has checked the following: Fuses, sensors, battery and there doesn't seem to be a reason why it happens.

Any ideas?

One thing I would try is while the car is sitting, take the battery out of the remote(s). That would at least eliminate the remote sending a false signal.

Maybe strong, gusty winds anre triggering the alarm

Yeah, remove the battery from the remote to see if it's the remote or the car itself.

I had this problem for a while myself. I figured the wind or something was tripping the alarm but the owners manual says that the alarm only goes off if the hood, doors, or hatch are opened when the car is locked. I opened my hood and made sure to close it nice and securely and I haven't had a problem since. Just make sure you're sealed up tight and use your manly man strength to close up the hood. Food for thought.
