Windshield replaced, now I hear creaks
Thats is interesting... Id imagine they lay just as much sand and salt down there in IL as they do here in MN. I have StateFarm as well. I called them... said I had a crack and they asked where do I want to take it. I think I can have up to 2 windshield claims a year without having to pay anything.
No Deductible Windshield Replacement: requirements, eligibility, process, state laws
It all depends on state laws, not so much the insurance company, unfortunately. Minnesota has laws that require the insurance company to provide optional full coverage glass replacement, while Illinois does not. Some other states such as Arizona, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts and South Carolina are zero deductible states where the coverage is automatically bundled with comprehensive insurance. In Illinois, the choices are pay for it yourself, or file a claim where the deductible applies. Obviously, paying for the windshield is the better option.
