Question about the Top Speed Pro-1 Race Spec Performance Catback Exhaust System
I have been shopping around for an exhaust system, and I think I want a cat-back. The average price of all the popular systems seems to be around $1,000 - $1,200.
Then, I stumbled upon the Top Speed Pro-1 Race Spec Performance Catback Exhaust System.. for $550? Seems like it's too good to be true.
Are there any members here that have this exhaust and can comment on the performance/sound? I've looked around YouTube and have only seen good clips of a 370Z and they were all recorded from the cabin.

Those pics might be for the 370z, cuz that exhaust doesn't look right. There is only 1 pipe going to the cats.
In any case, 550 sounds a bit too good to be true. My personal opinion is dont cheap out on things. You might have fitment issues and what not. I'd stick with the popular brands like Ark, Motordyne, FI, etc

For the price they make a decent product. I've had the sedan Y back setup for almost 4 years now and it's held up well and shines up like new. You need to order a set w/ the beveled/rolled tips, the straight tips are poor.
This axle back setup is pretty common around here and is a good choice for a deeper tone and a sportier look

Better to just buy their axleback and buy a y pipe if you want. Sam is right it is a Y pipe and not a catback. Quality on the axleback is fine I have one. Fitment was an issue, had to put spacers on the hangers because the tips were too close too the bumper but other then that it was okay.

I have the Beluga Racing catback and you will need a Y-pipe. The difference between mine and the top speed is the helmotz canister. I initially had a Top Speed Y-pipe, with very little rasp, but the hiss was killing me. I upgraded to an Xyz resonated Y-pipe and now it sounds quite nice. I'm considering removing the resonator though. Great system for the money. No rust as of yet but I'm in Florida.
Some of us (#8) are no longer debating.
I have today ordered an Invidia Gemini Cat back.
$850 delivered. Good reputation.
I don't trust sound clips. NO WAY to tell Volume and freq rsp of mic is an issue. Some clips have more wind noise than exhausts....I'm an old tech with my own Sound Level meter, scopes etc...... And I don't want to upset my neighbors. They have guns.
"They" say (Some here, some at Tunerz site, Some at Nico, Internet, etc)....a little louder than stock, but same sound at idle and easy throttle. But only a little louder. Sounds right for me.
louder than Stock at WOT. Not the same sound. Some added power (maybe 10/12 RWHP) Makes sense, it is a true dual exhaust while stock is not. That's OK. If I am doing WOT.....it's because I NEED to, not because I want to get a sound induced woody.
Got the rolled TItanium Blued tips....but it doesn't matter much. The tips are adjustable/replaceable.
I will have a shop install it. Midas did my Borla on my 2004 Tbird. This should be similar to the Borla (Which costs about twice as much....) I loved that one.....except for the Borla tips.... I don't like hardly any of the tips that are 2.5" for a couple of inches and then 4" for a couple of inches......Look fake to me. I could see 2.5 to maybe 3 or 3.5..........look for me to change the tips on the Invidia...... To each his own.
Now the wait........
What next?
Well I am an old man. So I won't be doing the MadMaxMod. No storm Trooper for me. Lets stay friends and you don't ask me what I think of those........
So far tinted windows (And a conservative 35% at that)........now the exhaust....and soon an intake.......leaning toward R2c.
That will probably be it....tho I am thinking of spacers......
I'll post up some impressions when I get the stuff.
It's not here yet. Don't understand it......paid for it with PayPal hours ago.........LOL!
