which car should i get?
bigger brakes. rotors- sportier look/ stopping power
quicker steering ratio- car responds quicker to steering input.
The standard model isn't bad at all and will probably still be a sportier feel than most cars you drive. The S is just a bit more responsive in those areas.
Also has LSD which helps with traction/ handling

The AWD sport model doesn't have the quicker steering ratio. The jury is also still out on if the AWD model has the rear limited slip differential. There is conflicting information published by Infiniti whether it is included in the AWD sport models or not. We need someone with an AWD sport model coupe to raise their rear end and spin one tire. If they spin the same direction it has a LSD, if they spin in opposite directions it doesn't have a LSD.
The main differences in going from the x to xS would be the air adjustable bolsters and thigh extender, revised sport front bumper, magnesium paddle shifters, 19" sport wheels, aluminum pedals, and Akebono 4/2 piston calipers.

According to the Infiniti website, the Xs does indeed have the faster ratio steering

OP, if you end up with a regular X and plan on getting the 19" wheels you'll drop at least a grand for a set in mint condition (no curbrash), and you'll need tires too.

Also, does anyone know if the sport version has more maintenance costs than the normal one? I hear these G's are very reliable but I'm curious.

The only thing it wont have that the RWD S has is the staggered wheel setup.

No real difference in maintenance costs. Only time you will see a difference is if you need to replace a part that's specific to the Sport.. example Calipers- they will be more expensive in the rare instance that you would need to replace them vs the standard calipers ... For the most part the maintenance components are otherwise the same on both versions.
Tires on the Sport will be more money because they are bigger/ wider.. but total costs much depends on which brand of tire you buy.
With all of that said we are talking less than significant differences you will need to be prepared to spend only every blue moon...

Every time I hear about the reliability of the G37, it makes me even more sure that I am making the right decision.
