Dashboard removal

Hello

I am wondering if anyone has attempted to remove the dashboard in our cars and wants to know the level of difficulty.

The reason I am asking is because my dashboard is melting and gives big glare during daylight driving. I have searched for possible solution on many forums but didn't find one. Although a member from myg37 have advised me to use a citrus chemical product that cost $300+ and I don't want to spend that much on a single chemical product.

So I have decided to wrap it with 3M vinyl. I searched the youtube "how to wrap dashboard" and gained a lot of knowledge. It seems that it will be a lot easier to install the wrap when the dashboard is removed rather than installing it in car.

I think removing the dash seems okay, but I am more concerned about putting it back together.

Thanks for your input in advance!

you can't really see because my car is in shade right now but all the shiny stuff is sticky and melting.

The second picture shows where I have placed my finger and leaves the marking. The marking goes away after few minutes.

What products have you used on the dash? Like detailers, shiners, restorers?

What products have touched the dash up until this point?

Also, what was the recommended $300+ product?

Guys, thanks for having interest in my melted dashboard, but it is melted and I don't think I can do anything further...

I went to the dealer and they quoted me more than $2000

So I was just wanting to know how difficult it is to remove the dashboard.

https://www.myg37.com/forums/private...dashboard.html

Citrus Degreaser, 15 oz 14170 - Newegg.com

I am sorry, it wasn't 300+ and actual price at 242...
The first link is the one the member mentioned it

If it's Armor All then you might just want to clean it. It could just be the product alone just becoming sticky. Do you feel your finger sinking into it if you push down? Is it making an indentation?

I tried every product I have at home to clean it but it doesn't come off. Yes the finger does sink in.

I am not worried about the melting anymore.......
