Problems with the G need Advice
Problems with the G need Advice
Well in the last 8 or so months I noticed that my car was downshifting (the rpms were dropping really quickly) and I brought it up to the dealership and they couldn't really find much wrong with it. Time went on and about two weeks ago my service engine soon light came on and I kind of ignored it for a week and a half. I was driving around college campus and my car kind of kicked backwards a little bit like something had broken and instantly I felt that when I was pressing the gas I was not getting any of the power I should be getting whats so ever it was like driving a honda civic( Terrible
). Also now the RPM's were dropping at much a faster rate. I brought it over to my mechanic which was kind of a bad idea since he found the codes then deleted them without doing the job since I had to call the third party extended warranty company
code was: Oxygen Sensor Bound 1
Apparently its a problem with the fuel to air ratio
The dealership will look at it and charge me for a diagnostic if they don't find the issue (132$) and if they find it and the warranty covers it they will just charge me the 100$ deductible for everything.
Whenever I rev my car at a stand still and I let go I hear this tsssss sound like a turbo would make .. except its not turbo'ed
anyone have any idea what this could be?

Not entirely sure what it could be, maybe an air leak somewhere. But either way even if you find out what it is, if you end up going to the dealer they will still have to put that diagnosis down to confirm your beliefs.
You got your answer bro. One of your o2 sensors are bad, bank 1. Either source an o2 sensor yourself and make sure you know which is bad and have your mechanic change it or go to the dealer and have them charge you maybe double to do the same job.

I don't know where the O2 sensors are on the pipes on your car, but are you lowered, could you have broken one? This could possibly also account for the hissing sound.
Did the service engine light come back on after your mechanic cleared the code(s) and did the reset?
If yes, the lack of power may be because the car is in safe, or, limp mode.
Cheers,
Paul

if you are hearing a hissing or turbo sound, you have an exhaust leak. since you also have a bad o2 sensor code, check there it is near the catalytic convertor it is similar in size and shape to a spark plug with a wire a coming from it. When looking you should see 2 one for each side of the exhaust. a new one is around $120. if it is missing it is easy to replace, if not a specialty tool is $10 to do it yourself without busting it
I am lowered.. maybe I did break one. I'm going to bring it into the dealership and let them know they should be able to find the problem ( I hope ). I think the car is infact in safe mode when I spoke to a rep she mentioned something about that.. I haven't driven it much in the last 3 weeks or so but I started today just taking it lightly she also stated that the car had to see the problem three times before the light came back on. I'm going to baby it a little bit until it comes back on.
I have that hiss or turbo sound that you mentioned also... not sure what it is. I cant recall but I think it started after I ripped apart my intakes to clean the throttle body/fitlers and mafs so maybe its a leak.. although i dont have any CELs and my hfcs are fine to my knowledge.
does it sound something like this? (you can hear the "hiss" after each rev if you listen closely)
