Also just noticed the RP I bought at Walmart was the standard SAE 5w-30 and that was $8 per quart. Then I looked online and saw the HPS series and that's $18 per quart at Walmart. I don't track the car at all, but I do enjoy daily spirited driving....will the standard RP hold up well as opposed to paying $10 more per quart for the higher performance RP?

You do not need the higher $$$ RP oil. The standard stuff is some of the best you can buy, especially for what you're using the car for. You won't be coming close to reaching the limits of what the standard RP can/will do for you. It would be a clear waste of $$$ to go with the higher priced RP. It's up to you though.

Also, don't skimp on the oil filter. Make sure you get a quality oil filter.

As for this little annoying smell it happens even on my g37xS Coupe but maybe like once a month if I ripp it hard also I noticed my rad coolent hose was a little leaky but I just clamped it down again and seems to be steady I'll change the hose next service

As long as the car is fine and temp is not moving towards H your more then fine

Maybe this is an X Coupe Problem lol I haven't heard of any S or reg G's having this issue
Could be something to do with the 4WD system...

I smell this every now and then as well. I thought it had to do with the Stillen Gen 3 intake I had put on as the filters were cleaned before I put it on due to being second hand so I thought it just had to do with the filters heating up from engine bay and radiator. I also have a XS Coupe.

There is something to this, but it's obviously not something that is detrimental to the performance of the car. I put my briefcase in the trunk, and I smell it virtually everyday when i get home and open the trunk. Nuts.

It's just oil blowing pass the rings.

I've noticed this too. My car is also low in oil. Car just hit 3,000 miles. On my way to the Casino, I merged into the hwy at hit about 4-5k miles and smelled burning oil.

Dealership says it's normal for the car to be low in oil. So I won't be adding oil. And if the engine blows, it aint my fault.

This doesn't smell like any oil I've ever smelled. It smells like good old rubber burning.

Could be a different burning smell. Do you gets your just by driving regularly? Of only if you floor it?

I only get the smell when I floor it. It seeps into the cabin for a short period of time even though I put the fans on recirc.

I rarely smell it in the cabin and its not tied to driving it hard. It's a couple of times a week at least.

The car has 45k on it and it is in immaculate condition both inside and outside so I can't imagine that it is an engine issue but I don't know. I've had it for a few weeks now and I still occasionally smell this smell. I've noticed it when I was parking the car in reverse the other day and I've noticed the smell while sitting at a traffic stop light after driving 60+ mph. Anyone have any idea what this could be?
I may have some idea, I just recently bought my g37 at 53k miles from carvana, since I had it there was a burning smell after flooring sometimes for fun, smelt like rubber, moving so I changed the tranny fluid because it was causing the smell of burning rubber and slightly started slipping (only happened once after I changed my oil) , problem stopped hooray! however now I smell it again but not as bad after flooring (smells different not like rubber), idk if it's heat or what but the engine is fine till I floor it, I rarely do it, mainly for fun, unsure what it is possibly the tranny or engine but in my cause I just won't floor it and enjoy the ride of the car, making it last.
