-Gas mileage wasn't that much worse than what I get in the G (usually got ~17-18mpg)
-'08 M3's nav and audio were majorly outdated
-Relatively harsh ride (I didn't mind but wife wasn't a fan especially on terrible SF Bay roads).
-M3's MT isn't all that great for comfortable cruising, it has a very notchy 1-2 shift and is pretty cranky until it's thoroughly warmed up (again, I didn't mind but it's not just about me anymore).
-Maintenance costs on an out-of-warranty M car are steep. Wasn't worth it since I'm so busy getting my new company off the ground I don't have much time to enjoy the car. In the not-too-distant future I probably would have had to replace tires, brakes, cooling hoses for sure ($4-5k), and that's assuming nothing unexpected crops up.

Wow pretty much what I've heard. Everyone always compares sports cars to the M3. They are great cars but are relatively narrowly focused. Welcome back. I'm jealous.
