Guess who's back...

I'm getting married this year and started a software company last year, so it felt like a good time to sell my M3 (E92, 6 speed MT, loaded...fun car!) and get something more practical. I loved the G37 coupe I had prior to the M3, and after taking a look at other cars on the market I decided that picking up another one as the best fit for us right now, so I'm back this time with a Black/Black '12 G37 coupe. It was the right price, had only 23k miles, and the options I wanted (sport / premium / nav). While not quite up to the M3's standards when driving at 9/10ths and above, for cruising around town, commuting to work, etc the G37 is probably a better car. At the very least it should keep me and the wife happy until the updated Q60 comes out and we get to see if Infiniti makes the IPL trim a legitimate M3 competitor. I'm looking forward to finding out what's been going on in the Infiniti G community while I was away! Obligatory pic is attached.

Haha alright here are a couple taken by the previous owner that convinced me to buy his M3...

There are two things I really miss about the M3:

1. The steering wheel. I loved the M3's wheel, and it's something you're directly interacting with 100% of the time you're driving the car, so I'm super aware of the difference.
2. The sound of the engine. The G sounds fantastic from outside the car, but is a bit less impressive from the driver's seat.

Overall, no regrets though!

It's a beaut! I've always liked the OEM M3 wheels but they're very understated and simple.

You're right abt a steering wheel- an underappreciated part of the car. You're also right that I wish the G exhaust was a little more noticeable inside the cabin.

Man, the prices are really coming down. I just paid 20.5+taxes/fees(~22k) for an 08 w/60k loaded 6 months ago. Congrats on your purchase!

Sorry for the confusion, it has 23k miles, I didn't get it or $23k. It would have been an absolute steal at $23k!

Congrats on the pick up and welcome back to the G fam! :8:

Welcome back and do you miss the power difference between the M compare to the G. I always wanted a M but that price tag is scary lol

I miss it sometimes, but less than you'd think. The E9x M3 isn't a stop light racer. It really shines at high RPMs (it's a monster from 4,000-8,500 RPMs). The problem is it's kind of hard to take advantage of that very often, particularly with the 6 speed (shifting at 8,000 RPM with the DCT is no problem, but it's a hair-raising affair when you're doing it yourself). Not to mention the fact that when your car is more fun pulling from 60-150 than it is from 0-60 that's a recipe for jail time. The The upcoming M3/M4 are going to be a different story though. By going with the turbo six they've added a truckload of low-end torque so it's going there's going to be a lot more off the line grunt.

Wow I wasn't aware of that

Beautiful G man. What made the M3 unpracticle? An '08 could be that high priced could it? Or was it the gas mileage?
