Can you post some pictures of the car you are referring to?

interior trim kits can be swapped out without much difficulty. or wood kits can be slapped on the aluminum S trim. my bet is that the previous owner did either of those options. some people just love the wood trim.

it is easy to tell if the car you are looking at is a true S: big brake package found on sports, sport seats, sport pedals, 19" staggered sport wheels, as well as a few other tell-tale signs.

I thought the wood grain was a dealer installed option on all models. A few come to the dealers with it but most are installed after the fact.

Some of those aftermarket kits are pretty crude, so look carefully if you're interested in the car.

On the bright side, it was most likely just applied right on top of the aluminum, so if you don't like it you can probably remove it with a little care...

I actually saw a '13 at the dealership today that had the sport package and a wood grain dash. It was discounted 5 grand but was still more expensive than my '12 was. It also had the bright wheel package and a spoiler so I guess that made a big difference.
