NISMO Z & IPL G. Same crap... We need a real entry level Performance car!

1. G / Z ------- 0-60 5.0 - 5.5
2. GT-R -------- 0-60 2.9
3. ???? -------- 0-60 4.0 - 5.0 ??

The true-dual exhaust helps too, I believe.

That is a lot of miles for a somewhat young car. I'd keep looking IMO.

I had the 2011 IPL Manual checked out by a infiniti specialist. Brakes were 70%, Tires are good, Drivers seat back rest had a small rip but the dealer fixed it, the person performing the inspection said he couldn't tell if or where the rip was, so the upholstery guy did a good job! The engine and other mechanical inspection also went well. Synthetic oil change was done. Overall the pre-purchase inspection went well and they gave it an OK. However their only concern was driving in snow, they said that the winter tires will help, but the IPL sits low and hence trouble in any kind of snow. The guy said if this is your daily drive (which it is) then that's something to think about. Does anyone here have any winter driving experience with the IPL?

Th Rims had some scrapes/scarring on them but the dealership whose selling the car had their auto body shop fix the rims, so will know about that tomorrow.

Wow I hope you don't pay for your own gas.

I think the mileage is too high for the year. Pass....

IMO I would take it if you can get it for like 21k. These engines are dumb reliable minus the gas milage. If you shift at 3-4k which I do I get about 15 MPG/ 25-26 on Hwy. I have almost 120k on the clock on a 08 bought brand new. Only mechanical problem I had was a bad thermostat and 02 sensor which was no biggy. Still on stock clutch which grabs hard still with the exception of new clutch master cylinder.

I won't speak to the IPL, but I know that the Nismo Z is supposed to be more about handling upgrades that just straight line performance. More downforce and aggressively tuned suspension make it a more trackworthy car than a non Nismo Z. 0-60 mile times are just one dimension of a performance car, after all.

I drive my lowered IPL year-round and it's fine. I just don't drive it when the weather is really bad. Get a backup or stay home those days.

Hell yeah, that's part of the standard break-in procedure!

Unfortunately... The trick is to try to get your money's worth out of every mile!

120k and still using the original clutch? Impressive!

miles is miles, and these are most likely highway miles, which you would prefer over city. see how badly chipped the front bumper is and if it's not too bad, go for it

I have officially joined the G-Brotherhood! bought the IPL today!

I am so glad that I bought the 6MT, I was breaking down and thinking of going with an automatic or even the sedan, but for me the IPL G37 6MT is the perfect balance between performance and luxury.

The dealer did his part and whatever issues I had were addressed satisfactorily. I am happy with the deal I got, I added a 3 year warranty. I was impressed with the used car dealership (Champagne Motor Car Company in Connecticut near UCONN), very straightforward, no pressure, no tricks and no games unlike the Honda and Nissan car dealerships that I had previously bought my new cars from. I think they also sell on ebay, but I am not sure.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for their valuable advice and tips, this was really a great experience. Now I can return the favor by contributing whatever I can in terms of car buying advice and so on.

It was probably all highway miles. If it was taken care of, who gives a hoot... rather have a 65k mile gently driven G37 then a 30k mile driven like it is a rental car G37.
