Driving impressions of my G37x coupe...when does the awd kick in?!?
So I have had my 2012 x coupe since last Friday. For the most part I have not put it to the test outside of straight line acceleration. But I have caught the corner a few times sharp and attempted an aggressive exit only to have the traction control kick in to catch my loose rear end, dead the throttle and pinch the brake...
When am I supposed to feel the front wheels helping out?
Mind you I come from the experience of a stock 2000 Audi A6 Quattro 2.7b/t and that kind of punch from a corner exit would have been flawless with its AWD...
I look forward to your thoughts

It is not an AWD system like the quattro you find in an Audi. It is an "intelligent all wheel drive system". Look here:

The web link to infiniti home page was helpful as I found some CBTs, computer based training videos , on some of the controls and features of the car. But the gloss over of the AWD was disappointing.
I will keep searching the forum for more info. Till then ,thanks !

The snow part sounds promising but I was more curious about cornering and such. I see an off switch down to my left on the dash, a car with swiggles that I presume to be to turn off traction control?? Does that also in any way disengage awd??

No, it simply is just traction control basically if the car is slipping it will bog and skip...if its off you will just spin which actually helps sometimes if your stuck too.
Turn it off to have a little fun, as per the thread that was linked.
Its 4wd in the sense that torque is only transferred when the front wheels slip I've seen it get stuck quite a few times where as soon as power gets transferred to the front and the car starts moving power gets rerouted to the rear wheels where it gets stuck again and starts the process all over again. Using the snow button does help as it seems to lock the system into 4wd up to 15mph I believe. With Audi its 4wd full time.
