Trunk compartment light & Wiring Harness checks

My trunk light works but the indicator that the trunk is open stopped working a while ago.

That is quite strange, the 'trunk room lamp switch' tells the BCM whether the trunk is open or closed. The warning that your trunk is open and the trunk light turning on is dependent on the status of this switch.

Here are some pics of the severed wires. Not sure how they were cut, the rubber tube protects them well and they look sliced (pic 2: yellow wire is lightly sliced) rather that stretched. Can't fix it until my crimper arrives on Friday. I am so excited to have a working trunk again, its unbelievable.

I'm juss worried if u fix ur trunk coz mine won't open I check the glove box switch and it on and when I press the button for the trunk it makes 4 beeping sounds but still it doesn't open. Did u figured this out? Need help thanks is it easy to take the wiring cover where the trunk goes up in the side? Need help asap thanks

Whoops, I thought I posted an update!

I spliced the two wires together using
heat shrink splices heat shrink splices
and it has worked flawlessly!

It is not hard to take the rubber tube (wiring cover) off, it is a large grommet. Pinch it where it goes into the trunk lid and wiggle it out. Once you have it out, cut the zip tie that holds the rubber to the harness and push the tube down/back. You'll see the severed wire.

You can do it!

Okay thanks for the help. But is this the problem if ur trunk won't open I check all the things u said like the glove box and the latch n there's power so now I'm stuck. I will check this weekend hopefully its the wiring where the big tube thanks.

This work for me thanks for all the help but I had to cut my cover boot coz it was in the middle.

Happy to hear you fixed it. Make sure you seal up the rubber tube if you've cut it. Don't want water or ice to get in there.
