My trunk light works but the indicator that the trunk is open stopped working a while ago.

Here are some pics of the severed wires. Not sure how they were cut, the rubber tube protects them well and they look sliced (pic 2: yellow wire is lightly sliced) rather that stretched. Can't fix it until my crimper arrives on Friday. I am so excited to have a working trunk again, its unbelievable.

That is quite strange, the 'trunk room lamp switch' tells the BCM whether the trunk is open or closed. The warning that your trunk is open and the trunk light turning on is dependent on the status of this switch.

Whoops, I thought I posted an update!
I spliced the two wires together using and it has worked flawlessly!
It is not hard to take the rubber tube (wiring cover) off, it is a large grommet. Pinch it where it goes into the trunk lid and wiggle it out. Once you have it out, cut the zip tie that holds the rubber to the harness and push the tube down/back. You'll see the severed wire.
You can do it!

This work for me thanks for all the help but I had to cut my cover boot coz it was in the middle.
