2011 G37xS Coupe vs G37S Coupe

I am new to the board and am contemplating my first G37 Coupe.
This looks like a great forum and I am pleased to see such a great bunch of enthusiasts.
Perhaps some members could steer me in the correct direction, please...

I am looking at a 2011 G37xS Coupe with less than 20k miles. It is black on black and loaded with all of the main packages. Former lease vehicle but not at an Infinity dealer so no Certified Status :-(
Asking price would be approx 32K.
Is this a reasonable price?
I am also contemplating a 2011 G37S Coupe, 30k miles in the 28k price range.
Any thought on which one would be a great daily driver, likely stored for the winter months.
There is also available a 2008 G37S with 40k miles at 21k dollars. Full records, one owner since new. Silver on Black. No nav and only the sport pkg. but comes with new tires on 19" sport rims and an extra set on Infinity 18" wheels with winter tires.

Really torn about where to jump in.
Thanks for any thoughts.

If you store for the winter than get the RWD, the 08 sounds pretty good w/ the exception of no warranty. These cars have good reliability records so if you give the 08 a good check it sounds like a pretty good buy, the 2011 for an additional $7k sounds reasonable too, I wouldn't pay the additional $4k for the same year AWD.

Which region of the country are you in? Does it snow there a lot?

Hi and thanks for the replies guys,
I live in south BC Canada. We have another car for winter driving so the G37 would be pretty much a 7 month car.
I now have good photos of the 08 and it is in exceptional condition with only a few small rock chips on the drivers side front bumper.
Price is $20k with both sets of wheels and tires.
Records are complete from day 1 and the car has been a babied price and joy.
No nav or back up camera. Only the sport package. Silver on black.

The only reason to get the X is if you will be driving in the winter months in a state that receives snow. I live in the midwest so to me, allwheel drive is a must. I have a 2012 Xs coupe and absolutely love it. I wouldnt get the 08 though as it wont have the more aggressive looking front bumper. That is my opinion for whatever it is worth. Good luck!

Hi ItalianG37xS,
I understand about the AWD.
We have a 2007 CR-V so the snow is covered.
I would like to make the G37 our main driver but we still need to move parents about, etc. so the G37 could be a bit tough for a 90 year old mother to get in and out of.
The 2011 G37xS is very nice but Japan is the country of origin so an extra 6% applies.
So $31K asking plus 6% Japan tax, plus 12% Canada taxes plus the 3% or so on the US/Can dollar difference brings the price up a bit, quite a bit.
The 2008 looks inviting...
The 2008 is in Canada so I just have to travel 400 miles to pick it up.

I agree with not buying an x if you don't need it for winter. The S will have much bigger brakes and a lower ride height and it will weigh less. Don't sweat the non-certified; a low mileage vehicle that checks out will be less $.

Actually the XS has the big Akebonos, only the XS sedan has the small brakes.

To me, I would wait and get exactly what I wanted, or looking elsewhere. I thought Chicago tax was outrageous but dang, that is a lot of tax!! I still would go with a new model over the 2008. I have heard that you cant bluetooth with the iPhone as well, the door sills are not illuminated and again, I think the new bumper looks more aggressive. Best of luck!

I have the exact same car and from the same area. I enjoy the vehicle! I think its great and wouldn't change it for a RWD ever!

There are options if you want to have a switch to change to RWD, but realize that the car is Full Time RWD unless slipping.

In the snow it drives like its raining. No problems and a pleasure to zoom past other drivers and still break better then most too.

The All season tires they put on up here stock are great tires and keep them for winter if there is that low of km on them.

When you pick it up PM me as we have a pretty large group up here of other G owners and a lot of help in the area for answers to any questions.

PS. Up here the S model and the xS model have all the same options including breaks, suspension etc.
For us 32k is a very very nice asking price. The car is worth closer to 45k if all the options are on it.
