Metal Loop under glove compartment panel
Metal Loop under glove compartment panel
Hi all.
I was getting a rather annoying tapping / creaking noise going over bump from the passenger side dash area. After further inspection I noticed that the finisher panel under the glove compartment of the passenger foot-well has a lot of give when pushed up. There's a metal loop in the back of the foot well that goes through the panel way in the back. I stuffed a paper towel in it to lessen the slack of the panel and voila! No more noise.
Is there something missing that's supposed to fit in the hook to secure the panel from movement? Thanks!

Can you please describe the metal hook in more detail? What is the approximate dimension of the hook and where exactly is it located?
A picture would be much better.
I do get an intermittent ticking sound from passenger side dash as well depending on the road surface.
Thanks.

I also have a 2013 coupe which has developed the same annoying noise. It actually sounds a little like the directional flasher clicking. I will go outside now to see if I can locate what you are talking about. A picture would, in fact, be helpful.
I am going to mention it at my first oil change at the dealership, but I don't have much hope that they will 1) actually hear it and 2) be able to fix it.
Okay I found it. That was a pretty good verbal description of what I was looking for. I don't think that's MY problem, but time will tell. I'll let you know.
