Finally got tint. Not entirely happy with it. Should I have it redone?

So I got 20% tint done all around on Monday on my 2012 G37 xS coupe. It looks nice from a distance, but I've found a few issues with it.

It was kind of pricey ($250 tax included), so I'd expect a near perfect job. Now am I being too analytical of it, or is this just bad workmanship? Should I ask for it to be redone? If so, would I expect to pay more for him to fix it?

Any insight would be appreciated, as I have never dealt with tint yet. Thanks.

Sounds like a sloppy job. I wouldn't put up with it.

I agree have them redo it. Did they say anything to you or did you notice these flaws when you picked up car ?

He actually did it when I was there in the shop. I hadn't noticed the issues as the lighting in there wasn't the best. It was also raining that day, so it was hard to see any flaws outside. It did seem like he was rushing when he did it though. But he assured me as he was doing it that he had 20 years of experience and it will come out good.

I tried to take pictures, but the camera won't focus easily on the tint. I tried holding something behind the window but that also didn't work.

That's a very expensive tint job. Definitely have them re-do it, it should be perfect at that price. I paid about $150 for my coupe, including windshield.

Mine was a little less in the grand scheme of things. I think I paid ~1100 for clear bra (front, fenders, bumper, fogs, mirrors, lights, a-pillar, rear bumper trunk lip, and front roof) and tint (all around, including windshield) done. ANYWAYS, for around ~180...mine were perfect. My tinter actually over cut around the windows and then filed them down with a metal filer. Also make sure that your tint goes in BEHIND (not around) the third brake light. Get it redone!

I would get it redone. If it bothers you now, it will continue to bother you..

Wow these are high prices... $250 with that many mistakes... any hair dirt etc will bubble in time cuts made jagged not smooth will peel up.
But note this tint is not precut so expect some small cutting issues but not lile what you described.
1paid $100 all 5 windows and 20 for the front strip... $120 in total for a great flawless job... only problem is now is I want darker! so in a few weeks getting it stripped all off and redone for $140 including windshield with a strip...

            Go back OP...

For that type of money geeze yet 20years of experience go back

Damn for 250 it should be perfect, I know I paid half that and mine was great. I even bitched about my third break light not being covered and them cutting around it. So they re tinted mine and covered the 3rd light even though it was perfect.

Wow, I didn't realize the tint could go behind the brake light. He acted like there was no other choice for it and he even cut it out sloppily around the corners and it wasn't lined up with both sides of the tail light. I told him I didn't really like it, and he tried fixing it. This was just by peeling it off a bit and spraying the solution on it again to try and recenter it. He said, once it's on, I can't do anything about it. I felt at a disadvantage because I had no idea what to expect from a tint job.
