Help with OEM Spoiler Install

Hey guys! I've tried searching, but only came up with the grubb spoiler install. Do any of you who have installed the oem sport spoiler for the coupe know where the plug from the led goes? I purchased my spoiler from someone but it didn't include instructions. I plugged it in the available plug, but it does't seem to turn on when i brake. I've uploaded the pics below to the plug that is available for it to plug into.

Ummmm, I remember it being pretty straight forward. You need to drill that Giant hole on the flat spot so the grommet for the LED wire to go into, but as far as where it plugs into.... I guess I can take off the trunk cover and look.... brb

So it looks like you don't have a back up camera, and to answer your question, yes that plug in your picture is for the brake light. The one towards the left in my picture.

Once plugged into the plug thats there under should light right up once the brake is applied... plugging it in wont light up the brake light.

I am also curious about this. I had my stock chrome spoiler (No Camera) and then I traded a buddy for his bigger OEM painted spoiler. I plugged the cord into the clear adapter under the truck, but the third brake light that I have inside the desk lid is still active and the one in the spoiler still doesnt work....Any ideas?

As for the brake light in the spoiler not working, you may want to check you connections. Take a volt meter and hit the prongs as someone else applies the brake. As for the brake light on the rear deck, inside the car lighting up, there a plug that you can access if you take off the panels in the trunk right under the light. IIRC its a brown plug. Unplug that. That'll stop the center brake light inside the car from working, so that you dont have 4 brake lights.

I know for my OEM (no camera) I had to play with the connections and find the Hot part of the connector and attach the wire to it and then attach the ground wire to a screw for the speaker. The connector didn't really work. Disconnected the interior rear shelf light.

@sick... sounds like your wires are crossed... in our trunks we have it all pre wired is what I found. no need to tap into the old deck light. I found just looking by the inside of the Trunk lid not the Deck but the lid that pops up a plug thats ment for the Larger Spoiler. I plugged it in pressed the brake and done...After I got it all installed I took a few pop outs under the 3rd brake lite out and found the connection for it and unplugged it and done...off... been working fine since... pm me any one I have pics of that plug to get into.

Bringing up an old thread...I have 09 coupe journey. No-nav, no spoiler (LED) from factory. I tried to use connector in trunk for a spoiler brake light but it doesn't work. However, my 3rd brake light on the rear deck does. So I plugged the spoiler LED connector into the rear deck plug, and spoiler LEDs work.

SO, seems like trunk connector is dead and rear deck works. Seems like others have same issue. Is the trunk connector not active for some reason from the factory?
