2007 Civic Si possibly to a 2008 G37 Manual Sport
What's up G37's?
I like my 07 Civic Si a lot. I have a Cold air intake, Race Header, lightened flywheel, sport suspension, exedy stage 1 clutch, and my car is tuned by Hondata Flashpro.
I am considering a used 2008G37 6 speed Manual Sport, I drove it. Very nice, fast and smooth, worried about gas mileage very much, and expensive ownership when I own it. 2008 G37 6 speed manual sport for $21,000 with 49 miles. I use my car with every day, so I will use the G37 DD, every day to work.
Comments for you all. Thanks.

Stealthcivic

I get about 19mpg combined. Gas will obviously be more expensive but it depends on how many miles you drive daily to really compare how it will effect your pocket.
Cost of maintenance is also more expensive but if your a DIYer and have necessary tools, you will be okay. If your still extremely worried, get an extended warranty.
Other then that, seems like a good deal granted everything check out...

I would go for the G37. I have had mine for 35k miles and my cost of ownership really hasn't been much higher than any other normal car. Just stay away from the dealer. I have 55k one mine and haven't had any maintenance costs other than oil changes and tires. Modding is where it gets expensive. Full exhaust is 1-2k, intake will be about 450-500, tune 650+. G37 is not a cheap car to mod. I came from a SRT-4. I am sure there are others here who have come from an SI and can chime in.

I believe it deff is a upgrade, if your looking at luxury wise. Im sure leather and the looks of the G37 inside outweight the cloth on the SI. Performance wise I bet all your mods on the SI still wouldnt keep up with a stock G37. At the race track ive seen fully bolted SI's only run low to mid 14s. A stock G37 runs low 14s/high 13s. Parts are expensive as someone said before, not much either. The aftermarket parts for your honda are endless which is something to consider if you like modding your car.

SI is definitely a nice ride to play with. I have a buddy of mine who supercharged his and man its nuts. My vote goes to G37 though. Why?? Sophisticated, Status, Luxury and Sporty. I have an 08 coupe ivory pearl modded and already spent about $8-9 grand on parts alone. Throw an extra grand for just spray painting the IPL parts since Infiniti discontinued that paint color >_< FENTRESS24 is right though. You do have to pay to play, but trust me in the long run you will turn heads left and right. Hope that helps. 22mpg average over here

My black 08 Civic EX-L coupe got written off a few months ago. First car I ever owned, bought it brand new. I loved that car but man, **** Honda.
About a month before it got written off I got a brand new engine under warranty because the block cracked after 93,000Km. So much for Honda's being reliable... I was about to leave on a 2 week 1200Km road trip the day it happened. Car was getting fixed for 2 weeks and Honda Canada would only cover the cost of a rental for an arbitrary 300Km = No vacation for me. Used to have mad faith in Honda but not after that bull****.
New G37xS coupe came a month ago and I've never been happier. So far no issues except a mysterious burning rubber smell... You're right to be worried about the gas mileage of the G. You're going to be spending roughly double what you used to on gas (civic can get 50MPG). IMO it's 100% worth the extra cost but if money's real tight it might not be the best choice.

im a previous infiniti owner, i used to oen a 2005 g35 sedan and was very happy with it, no major issues never. some small tings but i can say i never spent a whole lot during my ownership of the car (35k miles to 93k miles) then i bought an 08 coupe 6 mt
different story on my current car. luckily though. nothing has been out of my pocket since it was a certified car.
so far i have gone through 2 transmission which are prob the high price tag items. also have gone through a clutch shield (i think thats what the dealer called it) since i was having issues while driving, hearing noises constantly (ticking noise.. almost like marbles hitting) and have also gone through an AC compressor. im hoping nothing else happens to this car since i really like it and had such great experience with my other infiniti.

I have a Civic Si and went to a G37S and they are tottaly different in every way. The G eats double even triple gas if you boot it and you make less milage too. Everything on the car will cost you x2 x3 even x4 the cost to maintain it. But if you make decent coin you should b ok. The G is a great car and I never regret buying it. Do it!!
Imo I would get one with warrenty possibly 09 up jus to be safe never know what's up with used cars, that's jus me though. I never buy a car without full warranty. After buying this car I will never buy another Honda again. GL pay 2 play

Fuel mileage and cost of ownership will be far worse than on a Civic. Mods will cost way more than you're used to. Tires will cost at least twice what you're currently paying or more. Dealership labor and parts cost more. Ester oil changes are $75 at a dealership. Most report less than 20 mpg on average (see the mpg thread). It will be much more expensive to own, maintain, and mod this car. A lot more.
