Radar detectors are illegal in VA too.

Suffice to say, last time I passed through VA, I was on the bike with a 2 brothers exhaust. Very very loud exhaust. I'm sure I passed at least one cop in the 300+ miles I rode through. No one pulled me over. I suppose if the car is decked out, they're going to use any excuse to pull you over and fish.

 

Been pulled over a few times for exhaust. Check with your state laws to see exactly what the law states. In Caifornia it has to pass at over 95 db to be considered illegal but they will pull you over for any modified exhaust and hope people don't know the actual laws. Look at the fine print.

 

on the bright side its only a ticket that you pay. over here its straight to the impound yard for a couple of days + a hefty fine.

 

...exactly...I have heard pick-up trucks and motorcycles with louder exhausts.

 

Wow ... I live in MD and venture into VA all the time. There are so many area's where cheap, riced out cars are the norm. The Neon's, old Civic's and Tc's have the cheapest Pep Boys exhaust money can buy. Hard to believe these guys aren't getting tickets left & right.

The ticket was 95.00 BTW

 

This puts things in perspective....could be worse!

 

I was thinking the same thing. Why is that bikes always seem to be the exception to the rule??
