hood experiments?

My question is simple, has anyone taken it upon themselves to do something creative with their hoods, or have stumbled upon a really creative hood design for sale online?

I recently went to a ferrari club of NA meet and am always so blown away at how they have their engines on display through the back. like a disply case. It seems chevy has taken a chapter out of ferrari's book with the display case type hoods for their ZR1 corvettes and available for the camaro's as well. i guess it'd be cool to have something like that available for our cars.

anyways post the pics of your custom hoods, I'd love to see them

I know what you mean about Ferraris and their sweet looking engines looking mean through those clear tops. I don't know how our Gs would look with a see-through hood, or clear portion of the hood, not much to see there. It seems that those other cars where designed to have their engines on display, therefore more components are painted/finished and made visible. Our car has a big black engine cover and if we were to remove it, nothing pretty is awaiting under there...lol.

Maybe there are dress up kits for our cars? I'm not too much into that, so I wouldn't know.

I would say the most unique with about being obnoxious is the guy that cut the GTR vents in the his hood. That looked pretty good IMO. Clear window would not.

I have to agree with you on the GTR vents. They looked so nice on his car.

As for the Window hood, I wouldn't do it but thats just my opinion.

I've seen this hood in person on an Autokits car at the Vossen meet in Miami.. it is a great looking hood. They had theirs painted white and the part in the middle was black. Looked good!

Yup, that's my ride with the GTR vents. It took alot of measuring, precise cutting but wasn't too hard to do...those vents are effing expensive tho!

Yeah I saw the scoops online for about 300...what was the labor cost on that?
I think this look is more up my alley...more understated.
