Questions from a newbie

HI all i took the plunge and got a 08 journey...loving the car can you say addicted....

INTAKE:I was really wondering is it worth trading out the stock intake for a r2c or any other CA legal intake? i keep getting a mixed bag of answers would like to get some clarification?

WHEELS: how big do you guys suggest maybe some 19 fronts 20 backs offset?

EXHAUST: whats the best sounding intake around?

any help is much appreciated

Congrats on the purchase jmac!

For the intake you will find that there isnt really a significant increase in power from any after market option, but they do look nice and sound even better. So it's really up to you whether or not you can justify spending the money for it.

For the wheels, there are numorious options out there, and typically people run twenties. You can't be too sure about the offset that will be appropriate for your application unless you already have plans for your suspension. In other words: if you plan on lowering you're car you need to find the right offset that will fit properly or if you don't plan on lowering you still need to find the right offset for that route.

For the exhaust, that is totally up to you based on you're taste. I personally have the fast intentions CBE, and like many people here, I love it. So my I suggest that you look through YouTube videos of various setups until you find the one that you like the best. Try searching for Arc, fast intentions, greddy, invidia, amuse, hks, and many more.

Also use the search feature and look at the other members cars here to get some inspiration. Hope that helps

Just depends on what your looking for, some give more hp gains than others. Some sound better than other's. And only you can decide what is worth it. You may have a bigger budget than others.

It comes down to if your gonna lower your car or not, The roads in your area, Exactly what you plan on doing for your car. Try to plan ahead if you can. Make sure to include the cost of replacement tires for your ride as well, cause they can get expensive. Also think about Camber kits. Depending on tire/wheel size offset, it can all afecct how your car handles, and how fast those tires wear.

I answerd some of the questions in the "quote" btw lol

Most of ur questions were answerd quite well by the other member.
Now mind you im not an expert at all, just trying to give alittle friendly advice. Im telling you dude you can get EXACTLY the answer you want if u just search alittle more, youtube it up and talk to ppl who have whatever your interested in. It will save you alot of time and money.

So all i can say is gl!

Do a google search as well. A lot of times it will bring you back here but it won't be so confusing.

For instance:
intakes:
https://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclien...w=1439&bih=802

exhaust:
https://www.google.com/#hl=en&biw=14...319797d2909696

Rims are totally up to you.

If you are willing to drop 500 on an intake for sound go for it. But don't expect any performance gains from an intake system

You will see gains if you get a tune after you install the CAI!
