Outside Rear View Mirror/Blind Spot?

Outside Rear View Mirror/Blind Spot?
I was following a 370z yesterday and noticed both his outside rear view mirrors had little convex mirrors (sorry- I now there must be a better description than that...) on each.
This got me thinking about a bit of a blind spot in my G37- albeit mostly on the driver's side. Despite how I adjust my mirror, and by ALWAYS shoulder-checking, I find there are still times I miss traffic sitting there. Never had a close call but now I'm thinking maybe these little things on my mirror might help.
Anyone have any experience with these or know if it's just an add-on?
I don't want to compromise the appearance too much but this seems a good addition to consider.
Thanks.

It's just an add on. I have those on mine and no one notices it. I was the same like you. At first I was very skeptical as I didn't want to compromise the look but I actually like it now. Not to mention, I never have to look over my shoulder any more.. You'll have to look closely at the pics to spot them. Hope this helps.

Thanks darryl865- that is it exactly. I really appreciate the quick response and pictures.
Agreed- I never even would have noticed them.
Like Mike24 I'd like to know where I could get these and for that matter, what they are properly called. I assume they stick to the existing mirror somehow?
Have a good one.

I was waiting for a response like that and I think it's fair because I have felt the same thing. However, after driving many different vehicles for many years (ranging

woops..
ranging from small, sporty to very large urban assault vehicles, I find the G coupe to be about the worst.
I've tried various mirror.seat adjustment combinations but still can't find the sweet spot.

Bringing up a thread to show people how not to adjust their mirrors.
Bottom Mirror is wrong because you are seeing to much of your car's body. You should not be able to see your body at all. Look at the top mirror you should position it like that.

i used to have those blind spot mirrors on my old tibby... that thing was a death trap... all in all if you adjust your side views properly your not going to have that issue but those little convex mirrors are simply amazing

Or you can just buy a driver's mirror glass from the euro-spec G (it is spherical, like the passenger's). I did it on my sedan and don't have a blind spot like I had!
